Jiyub Lee
After moving to Seattle in 2011, I started dabbling in a variety of Latin dances like salsa, bachata, and samba. One day, my mom, who has been a lifelong fan of dancing, casually suggested that I should try Argentine tango because it’s hard. After taking classes from many instructors both in and from out of town for a year, I felt that I needed to continue to learn tango. A year after that, I found myself wanting to concentrate solely on tango. After another year, I realized that tango had become a key part of my life. Thanks to support from many wonderful instructors, dancers, and friends, this journey of learning tango has been fascinating and deeply connecting. And I love the feeling of having just begun the journey as I learn each day.
