In this class you will learn the building blocks of tango. Musicality is always included and you will get all the real technique for dancing and communication to make you a fantastic feeling and sought after partner. 
No experience needed!

Tango is made up of just 5 elements:

Walks
-3 tracks
-cross and parallel

Cadencia/Amage/Rock

Twist and pivot

Turns 

Changes of weight in place

We will cover all of these elements, and how to begin to improvise to the music from the very first class! 

In Buenos Aires Tango is three things:

firstly music

secondly poetry

​and lastly dance...

You will learn how to listen and interpret the music in an authentic way to your own ear. This will give you the ability to dance each song in a different and exciting way every time. 

​No choreography or memorization of combinations required!

These classes will be held at Beyond the Beat dance studio in Palm Desert!

Wear comfortable clothes and leather soled shoes, OR SUEDE FOR BALLROOM/LATIN if possible! Rubber soles stick to the floor and make it difficult to turn. 
Bring a water bottle and some snacks to keep your energy up throughout the day!

 Sara brings Three decades of tango experience, 17 + years of travel and living in Buenos Aires working with some of the top teachers in the world, and dozens of additional certifications in GYROTONIC, yoga, ballroom, classical, martial arts, and more...

In the second class we will build on the basics, finding fun and varied expressions of the elements of Tango!


Once you have the basic elements it will be time to learn the popular and great feeling applications of the movements as they are danced in the milongas of Buenos Aires. 

You will learn the very best technique that is super natural and comfortable to help you have freedom of movement, great balance, and an unforgettable embrace! 
What is it like to work with Sara?

​Sara doesn't just teach steps! She teaches the real communication of the dance. No memorization and regurgitation of useless sequences, you will learn how to improvise and understand the language of Argentine Tango as it is danced in Buenos Aires! 

All of the info you will recieve is the most current teaching methods, including anatomically correct technique which will help you feel and look amazing on the dance floor. 

We will cover the why! Why and how steps developed, and the ways to make your dancing feel better to your partner no matter the level!

After many years of training in dozens of movement styles from classical to break dance Sara moved on from a long ballroom career to focus entirely on her first love, Argentine Tango.. 
She has lived in Buenos Aires for many years working with the top artists in social tango from Buenos Aires and beyond.
